Mad Minutes
Familiarity of Addition and Subtraction facts to 18 is a goal for this year.
This knowledge and the security of knowing these facts are fundamental building blocks to success in math.
You will need to print two mad minutes each week for homework. Please let me know if there is a problem in printing it. Two mad minutes should be completed each week.
Familiarity of Addition and Subtraction facts to 18 is a goal for this year.

Directions are as follows:
1. Have your child sit at a table or desk with a pencil and mad minute in front of them.
2. Pencil remains down until you say go.
3. Set a timer for 3 minutes. When ready, say “Pencil Up” Start timer, and say “go”.
4. Your child should complete as many problems in 3 minutes as they can. Do not help them.
5. When the timer goes off, say “Pencil Down.”
6. Check over the problems with your child and count the number of correctly completed problems.
**If you think setting a timer will cause your child any anxiety, please do not set a timer. If you are not setting a timer, please have your child complete as many problems as they can within 10 minutes.**
